Afterburn was a TV movie that dealt with a cover up of problems which occurred during the development of the F16 fighter. The production couldn't get access to F16 fighters. For this scene, which was shot at Mohave Airport, I painted a long row of F16s, and replaced the background. I also loaded and operated camera to shoot the plate, which I've done from time to time. We used a soft split to add in the miniature plane. The location plate was bi-packed using a special matte camera, exposing 5380 low con color print positives, then adding in the painting.
